Pete Farber's car was disqualified in tech because the injector hat was above the roof line, and he doesn't have a lower replacement, so he won't be racing this weekend.
Great run by Auxier to move to the head of the class and take the provisional "Last Man Standing" baton. Scriba had shake problems early and threw in the towel on the top end.

Good runs in both lanes. Russo was quickest of the first session, failed fuel check.

Commisso went red, shook, and slowed. Gray shook, pedaled, and finished the run. Points-leader Commisso has two more chances to get into the field tomorrow, but he has nothing to tune from.

Two straight, clean runs, Tindle showing the quickness he's known for at other venues. He's #1 and the Last Man Standing. Now Ralph Andreacchi is on the bump spot at 8.355.

Nice pass by Hoover, clean and straight, but he's only quick enough for #2.

Two more full passes with no major problems - obviously the improved copnditions suit these cars.

Those two runs put Frederick Scriba on the bump spot at 7.454. Andreacchi was just bumped from the field. Sounded like Andreacchi's car would not shift into high ngear and he shut off way before the stripe. Even so, he bumped into the field, on the bump spot.

Martin's swoopy M 4 looks like something out of "Blade Runner." Martin's car was making some darting moves and he shut off before half track. Russo made his second good run of the day, under drastically different conditions, only picked up a few thousandths.

Tindle had hard tire shake and lifted. Russo went right down the groove, setting a tough mark for the rest to shoot at.

Another IHRA debut, Al Billes the tuner on Andreacchi's '63 split-window 'Vette. It may have been planned, the car went almost to half track and he slowed, the chutes out.

Lots of new faces. Farber had the wheels up a long way down the track, the car steadily going to the left, but he handled it smoothly. However, something let go at the finish line and there's a long trail of "stuff" in the shutdown area.

Vick made a decent run, not much wasted motion.

Both cars shook on the launch. O'Hare threw in the towel, Russo gathered it up and stayed mostly in the groove.

Scriba shook so hard he lost power, stopping before the 1,000-foot marker. Smith took the 1,400-foot route to the finish line, a snaking pass. Looks like he left a thin trail of "stuff," more track time for the scrubber.

This was ugly...Nielsen with severe shake, King not much better off. King managed to get it hooked up after pedaling a couple times.

Gibson did not fire, went down the return road. Auxier ahook and went "bowling for cones," taking out the half-track reflector.

Finally two cars went down the track - Martin slowed on the top end, looked like his car was losing power.

Hoover's car shook, then went into a "tankslapper," the rear tires in the air, one at a time. He lifted,. didn't hit anything. Nice pass by Lang.

Synchronized tire shake and spin, followed by a long coast, a fitting end to an ugly round.

Rickie had a small advantage at the line but immediately went right & had to lift. It may not have mattered as Billy Harper continued his 2008 domination to take the Championship Belt!!!

Kalwei is in the Team Motorsports '63 Corvette, and he has BIG time shake right and the hit & breaks a driveshaft, coming to a stop on the racetrack.

Balance is here all the way from California & has one fine looking racecar. And both guys drive right into tire shake.

Big time shake for Vick right off the line while Keeter was very loose in the middle of the racetrack.
